In a recent interview, former Super Eagles Captain Ahmed Musa shared his excitement about making a strong comeback with Kano Pillars, where he scored twice and contributed to a penalty in their 2-0 win against Sunshine Stars.
Musa joins an elite group of former national team players, including defender Shehu Abdullahi, who have returned to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) after stints abroad. The re-signing of Godwin Obaje also adds to the buzz among fans.
Musa’s debut with Sai Masu Gida was particularly thrilling, especially after the team’s shaky start to the season following a loss to Remo Stars in their previous home game. Following his standout performance, he assured fans that this was just the beginning. “Scoring two goals and earning that penalty was just the start; we’ve got a lot more coming,” he said after the match.
Having kicked off his international career at Venlo in the Dutch League and later playing in Russia, England, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, Musa expressed his gratitude for the warm reception from the Kano Pillars organization. “I am back in familiar colors, and it feels good. I’m thankful to the entire backroom staff, my teammates, and the management of Kano Pillars for believing in me and giving me this chance to return,” he mentioned in an interview with local online outlet BSN Sports.
Additionally, he took a moment to thank the fans who made the trip to Katsina to support the team. “To the amazing supporters and everyone who came out to watch, thank you for the love and energy,” he added.
