He is currently a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Simon Johnson, born in the UK in 1963, received his Ph.D. from MIT in 1989 and is also a professor at the same institution. James Robinson, born in 1960, completed his Ph.D. at Yale University in 1993 and is now a professor at the University of Chicago.
