In a touching display of compassion, former President Muhammadu Buhari and Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari have reached out to AbdulRasheed Bawa, the former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), following the loss of his mother.

Alhaji Ibrahim Yahaya Bawa, a family representative, shared that Buhari reached out via phone from London to offer his condolences during this trying time.

Senator Yari, along with Senator Adamu Aliero, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, also made separate visits to extend their sympathies to the family. They prayed for Allah’s mercy on the late Hajiya Hadiza Lami Bawa, wishing her eternal peace in Aljannatul-firdausi.

Yari described Hajiya Hadiza Lami Bawa as a distinguished and cherished matriarch, noting her immense impact on her family’s life. He highlighted the void her passing creates, especially when her wisdom and prayers are needed most.

On behalf of the Bawa family, Alhaji Ibrahim Yahaya Bawa, who previously served as General Manager of Group Administration Services at NNPC in Abuja, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Nigerian community for their support during this difficult time. He specifically thanked Buhari, Governor Nasir Idris, Yari, and other notable Nigerians for their thoughtful calls and visits that brought comfort to the family in Jega. AbdulRasheed Bawa’s mother recently passed away at the Usman Danfodio University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH) Sokoto after a brief illness.
