On October 5th, Olympic gold medalists Wang Qilin and Li Yang, along with Lin Yu-Ting, made a stylish appearance at a fan event for a popular outdoor functional wear brand. This marked their first public appearance as a trio after achieving the historic feat of winning back-to-back gold medals in men’s doubles badminton, a pair known as “Lin-Yang Pair.” The trio donned coordinating outfits that delighted fans in attendance, particularly Lin Yu-Ting, who stood beside them.

This event marked the first commercial collaboration for the three-time gold medalists, drawing a large crowd of enthusiastic fans who greeted them with loud cheers. The “Lin-Yang Pair” revealed that their matching outfits were themed as “couple’s outfits,” causing another wave of excitement among the fan base.

Li Yang, who has transitioned into a role as an associate professor at National Taiwan Sports University, shared that he is still adjusting to his new teaching responsibilities. He noted that being an educator has significantly changed his personal routine, emphasizing the importance of enhancing his language and writing skills, as well as his wardrobe. “I used to wear casual clothes, but now I’m learning how to dress in a way that combines formality and style,” he explained.

Wang Qilin quickly chimed in, revealing that Li Yang’s favorite color is gray, showcasing their long-standing camaraderie.

Following his transition to compete internationally with partner Qiu Xiang-Tang, Wang Qilin expressed his recent goals of accumulating points in competitions, hoping to qualify for high-level events and to participate in the upcoming Nagoya Asian Games in two years.

Lin Yu-Ting, who has frequently teamed up with Li Yang for these events, shared her fond memories of attending his retirement ceremony. Standing next to the “Lin-Yang Pair,” she reflected on her own experience during the Tokyo Olympics, where she faced an early elimination. “It took me a while to adjust emotionally during that time, but Li Yang provided a lot of encouragement. His discipline in training truly motivated me. I’m thrilled to share the stage with them this time and to win a gold medal at the Paris Olympics.”
