On October 7, the Ministry of Transportation shared updates via their official social media account, referencing data from the State Council’s logistics task force. They reported that the national cargo logistics system operated smoothly from September 30 to October 6. Here are some of the key highlights from their findings:
– National railways transported an impressive 80.67 million tons of cargo, marking a 1.7% increase compared to the previous week.
– In contrast, freight traffic on national highways took a significant hit, with 40.24 million trucks recorded, a drop of 34.66% from the week before.
– Port monitoring indicated that total cargo throughput reached 250.11 million tons, down 6.57%. Container throughput also declined, totaling 5.90 million TEUs, which is an 8.76% decrease.
– In civil aviation, a total of 128,000 flights were operated, which included 3,726 cargo flights. Notably, there were 2,549 international cargo flights and 1,177 domestic ones, reflecting a week-over-week increase of 3.91%.
– The postal and express delivery services combined processed around 3.13 billion items, showing a 13.74% decrease. The delivery volume for the same period also saw a decline, amounting to approximately 3.13 billion items, down 12.8%.
These statistics illustrate a mixed picture for the logistics sector, showcasing both positive developments in some areas while highlighting challenges in others.
