MultiChoice Nigeria is gearing up to revolutionize its SuperSport variety channels, with exciting changes set to go live on October 9 for GOtv users. The goal of this upgrade is to elevate the sports viewing experience by providing customers with a captivating range of options.

As part of this transformation, the current SuperSport Select Channels will be rebranded as SuperSport Africa, alongside the introduction of a brand-new channel, SuperSport Action. This new channel is designed to give viewers access to an expanded selection of sporting events, including UFC matches and more Champions League games.

In an interview about the revamp, Tope Oshunkeye, Executive Head of Marketing at MultiChoice West Africa, highlighted their commitment to curating a dynamic mix of content for sports enthusiasts. “The channel revamp is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our sports offerings and provide customers with unbeatable sports content that resonates with them. The new channels will showcase the latest sports action from around the globe, while focusing on content specifically tailored for the African audience. This includes local boxing, UFC events, comprehensive analyses, and a variety of other engaging content. We are dedicated to delivering top-notch sporting action and are continuously exploring new ways to delight our customers with more choices, exciting live content, and great value,” Oshunkeye explained.

These upcoming changes will affect multiple GOtv packages: on GOtv Jinja and GOtv Jolli, Africa will be replacing Select 2 (Channel 64). For the GOtv Max Package, SS Africa and SS Africa 2 will take the place of Select 1 and Select 2 (Channels 63 and 64). Additionally, SS Africa and SS Africa 2 will replace Select 1 and Select 2, while SS Action will occupy the slot for Select 3 (Channel 69) on the GOtv Supa and SupaPlus Packages.
