In an official announcement from the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) and the National Supervisory Commission, it was revealed that an investigation has been launched into Tang Yijun, the former secretary of the Party Leadership Group and chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Political Consultative Conference. This action follows the approval of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China due to serious violations of discipline and law.
The investigation uncovered that Tang had strayed from his ideals and principles, deviating from his core responsibilities while resisting oversight from the organization. He demonstrated a blatant disregard for the eight-point regulation set forth by central authorities, frequently attending banquets and accepting travel arrangements that violated the rules. Additionally, he accepted gifts, cash, and prepaid expenses for personal use, which were improper.
Tang’s apparent lack of organizational accountability led him to hide personal issues and fail to provide honest information during investigations. He engaged in activities that unduly benefited others while receiving financial incentives during the selection and appointment of officials. Further compromising his integrity, Tang used his position to help relatives secure financial deals and intervened in market activities and judicial matters inappropriately. Reports have also surfaced questioning his family values, particularly concerning his lack of involvement in his spouse’s education and guidance.
His actions reflect a complete disregard for laws and regulations, as he exploited his public office for personal gain, participated in corrupt dealings, and used his authority to benefit others in various business dealings, including company listings, promotions, and case handling, while unlawfully accepting significant sums of money.
Tang Yijun’s breaches of Party political discipline, organizational discipline, integrity discipline, work discipline, and personal conduct amount to serious offenses, including allegations of bribery. His refusal to amend his behavior after the 18th National Congress has resulted in grave consequences. Following an evaluation by the standing committee of the CCDI and with the approval of the Central Committee, it has been decided to expel him from the Party, remove him from public office, revoke his qualifications as a representative to the 20th Party Congress, confiscate his ill-gotten gains, and refer his suspected criminal activities to the prosecutorial authorities for legal action, along with any associated assets.
