On October 15, the Central China News Agency reported from Nanchang that Jiangxi province has officially launched its first cargo flight route to Bangladesh.

The inaugural flight took off in the afternoon, carrying 55 tons of fabric, zippers, and various clothing supplies from Nanchang Changbei International Airport to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

This new route will be serviced by an Airbus A330, with flights scheduled twice a week, providing over a hundred tons of cargo capacity to and from Bangladesh each week. The primary cargo includes general goods, cross-border e-commerce items, and aquatic food products.

Bangladesh is recognized as one of the fastest-growing economies in South Asia. Customs officials have noted that the introduction of this flight route will enhance trade relations between Jiangxi and the South Asian market, offering robust support for Jiangxi’s high-level opening up to the outside world.

According to statistics, in 2024, Nanchang Changbei International Airport will resume and introduce 27 new international passenger and cargo routes, bringing the total number of international cargo destinations to 12. In the first three quarters of this year, the airport handled over 25,000 tons of international cargo, marking an impressive year-on-year increase of 61.7%.
