On October 15, in Kunming, Yunnan Province, a forum titled “Digital Empowerment of SMEs for Green Development” was held, organized by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Promotion Center under China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in collaboration with the Yunnan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and the China International Cooperation Association for Small and Medium Enterprises. During the event, a new member list for the “10+3 SME Service Alliance” was announced.
“The China-ASEAN collaboration is one of the most successful and vibrant models in the Asia-Pacific region,” remarked Zhang Xing, Deputy Director of the Comprehensive Coordination Department of the China-ASEAN Center. He highlighted that significant achievements have been made in recent years within the realms of the digital and green economies.
Shiyoulian, Deputy Secretary-General of the Yunnan Provincial Government and Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, shared, “This year, Yunnan has developed a strategy focused on building a significant information corridor in Southeast and South Asia to promote extensive cooperation. We aim to guide major demands and foster significant growth, advancing our role as a hub in these regions from both physical and digital perspectives.”
Feng Xu, Deputy Director of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Promotion Center, emphasized that the center serves as a national-level comprehensive service institution for SMEs. “We are gathering high-quality service resources to facilitate the internationalization of SMEs. This year, through the ‘One Network for Chinese SMEs,’ we launched the ‘Myriad Sails Setting Sail’ initiative, addressing the pain points and needs of SMEs venturing abroad, effectively building a bridge to international markets.”
The forum also introduced the “Myriad Sails Setting Sail Action Plan for SMEs: Digital Overseas Expansion (Yunnan)” and announced the addition of 15 new members to the “10+3 SME Service Alliance,” including the Korea Small and Medium Business Corporation, the China-Philippines Business Council, the Laos National Chamber of Commerce, and the Yunnan Provincial SME Service Center, all working together to promote SME development.
