On October 18, a cold chain truck loaded with Vietnamese durians successfully passed through customs at the Aidian Port in Chongzuo City, Guangxi. This marks the first batch of fresh durians imported under normal trade from Aidian since the port’s opening to Vietnam’s Zhimakou.
At 10 a.m. on the same day, a ceremony was held at Aidian Port to celebrate the arrival of this inaugural shipment of fruit. The first batch consisted of 19 tons of Vietnamese durians, valued at 430,000 RMB. After thorough checks and customs inspections, the shipment was cleared smoothly and is set to be distributed to various locations.
To ensure the fast and efficient clearance of imported fruits at Aidian Port, the local border inspection station proactively connected with import businesses, offering consultations about customs procedures and enhancing clearance services. They achieved a streamlined process where vehicles made “one stop, one inspection, and one release,” resulting in “zero waiting” for cargo clearance and “zero delays” in loading and unloading, thereby promoting the safe and quick release of imported fruits.
Aidian Port serves as a Class A bilateral land port on the China-Vietnam border. The successful passage of these durians marks a new pathway for ASEAN fruits entering China. According to statistics, as of October 15, the total volume of goods passing through Aidian Port this year has reached 700,500 tons, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 9.62%. The value of imports and exports has hit 38.941 billion RMB, up by 8.66% compared to the previous year.
