On October 20, the highly anticipated 11.11 shopping festival is in full swing, and Pinduoduo is ramping up its subsidy program. The second round of its “100 Billion Consumption Coupons” event has officially launched, significantly increasing the subsidy amounts. Shoppers can now claim up to 2,600 yuan in large denomination coupons. The first round focuses on key products such as smartphones, computers, televisions, refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, and small appliances, aimed at driving upgrades in digital appliances and unlocking greater consumer spending potential on the platform.
According to reports, this upgraded “100 Billion Consumption Coupons” initiative will run from midnight on October 20 until midnight on November 1. During this period, each participant can not only claim the 2,600 yuan consumption coupon but also have the chance to receive additional 50% off coupons. All eligible products under this program can combine the coupons with regular subsidy prices, providing consumers with a straightforward way to find low-cost, value-for-money goods by simply opening the Pinduoduo app, clicking on the “100 Billion Subsidy” section, and accessing the “100 Billion Consumption Coupons” area.
With the added subsidies, the prices of several popular products have been drastically reduced. For instance, the official price of the Honor 100 Pro is 2,399 yuan, but the final price drops to just 1,878 yuan. Similarly, the Redmi K70 Supreme, originally priced at 2,499 yuan, now costs 2,098 yuan; and the Vivo X100S Pro with 16GB + 512GB, which typically retails for 5,399 yuan, is now available for 4,269 yuan. Other notable discounts include Midea’s energy-efficient air conditioner slashed from 6,099 yuan to 4,089 yuan, and a washing and drying set from Little Swan that originally costs 7,598 yuan is down to 5,159 yuan.
In addition to the platform’s substantial subsidies, specific home appliance products in the 2,600 yuan consumption coupon zone will also qualify for a national subsidy, resulting in an additional 15% price drop. For example, a 100-inch Changhong TV that usually costs 8,999 yuan can be purchased for 7,299 yuan, and with an appliance trade-in offer, further discounts apply. Midea’s 635-liter French door refrigerator can now be bought for 2,095 yuan after similar adjustments.
Leading up to this major shopping event, four departments, including the Ministry of Commerce, announced guidelines on “Buy Back and Replace” programs for home appliances, offering subsidies for qualifying personal consumer purchases categorized under “8+N” product standards. Currently, Pinduoduo has launched its first national subsidy consumption area, allowing consumers in Sichuan to access benefits like the appliance trade-in, with subsidies potentially reaching up to 2,000 yuan. Additional regions are scheduled to roll out their own subsidy sections soon.
Earlier, on October 8, Pinduoduo kicked off this year’s 11.11 shopping festival, introducing the “100 Billion Consumption Coupons” initiative and upgrading the “Double Subsidy” event to “Super Double Subsidy” to support sales across various categories. By October 20, merchants participating in the first round of the “Super Double Subsidy” saw their sales jump more than 15 times compared to the week leading up to the festival, with significant growth seen in categories such as agricultural products, small appliances, beauty items, baby care products, and everyday necessities.
Highlighting the success, sales of soft kiwifruit tripled, while products like the Chasing Clean Robot vacuum increased by 778%. Other impressive gains included a 497% increase for Bear Appliances, a 699% surge for Vidda TVs, and a 140% jump in sales of Li-Ning sportswear. Brands in beauty care, such as Fenghua, reported a 273% increase, IN TO YOU saw growth of 774%, and Proya experienced a 385% rise. The popularity of Haitan condiments skyrocketed by 3,275%, and Yinlu food products saw an astounding increase of 4,656%.
A representative from Pinduoduo’s 100 Billion Subsidy program stated, “Since the event launched, consumer activity has significantly surged on our platform, particularly with standout performances from the 100 Billion Subsidy and other initiatives, leading to exceeding growth across several categories.” As the shopping festival reaches its peak, they plan to continue boosting the subsidy amounts and expanding the range of categories for the 2,600 yuan consumption coupon, encouraging merchants to increase sales while providing more value to consumers.
