During a recent interview, Zhou Yunkui, Deputy Director of the Emergency Management Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, expressed hopes for ASEAN international students participating in emergency knowledge and skills training. “I hope that the ASEAN students who take part in this training will bring back the emergency knowledge and skills they acquire to their home countries, becoming significant forces in promoting regional emergency cooperation and development,” he said on October 26 in Nanning.
Zhou provided details about the “First Responders Training Program for 1,000 ASEAN International Students,” which focuses on internationally certified first aid courses. The training covers essential topics, including basic first aid knowledge, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), trauma care, as well as an overview of China’s laws, regulations, and policy frameworks related to emergency response and rescue operations.
“We look forward to seeing these participants become knowledgeable and practical ‘first responders’ who can quickly organize emergency response and rescue efforts in the event of an accident or disaster,” Zhou added. He noted that Guangxi aims to provide emergency knowledge training for 1,000 ASEAN international students over the next five years, with certificates being awarded upon completion.
