On October 25th, the China Society of Automotive Engineers held a press conference in Beijing to announce details about the upcoming 31st Annual Meeting and Exhibition. Themed “Intelligent Emergence: Accelerating into a New Era of Transformation,” this year’s event is scheduled to take place from November 11 to 14 in Chongqing.
At the conference, the organizers outlined the event’s structure, which will encompass a variety of formats including meetings, exhibitions, and competitions with over 120 planned activities. They expect participation from more than ten academicians, 100 key figures from domestic and international automotive enterprises and research institutions, around 1,000 presenters of technical reports, and approximately 5,000 automotive technology professionals from over 26 countries.
The press conference highlighted six key features of this year’s meeting. First, they have tailored core topics to address major innovation needs in the industry, with six critical areas including “Intelligent Connected Vehicle Technology,” “New Energy Vehicle Technology,” and “Fundamental Common Technologies,” comprising 90 specialized forums and 25 concurrent sessions. A hundred experts, including academicians, chairpersons, and CTOs of leading automotive companies, as well as university presidents and deans, will share new concepts and achievements.
Second, there will be an emphasis on deepening collaboration between industry, academia, and research by inviting more laboratories, innovation centers, and engineering technology centers from the automotive sector to participate in the event through speeches and technical exhibitions, directly addressing the innovation needs of the automotive industry.
Third, international exchange is being reinforced as the proportion of international speakers has notably increased, with participants from leading automotive countries and regions.
Fourth, exhibition areas will be centered on automotive engineering technologies, featuring four main themes: energy-saving and new energy vehicle technologies, intelligent connected vehicle technologies, testing, simulation, and equipment technologies, as well as vehicle integration and common technologies, achieving preliminary integration of conference and exhibition events.
Fifth, the event will include activities aimed at fostering youth interest in automotive science, with hundreds of young participants invited to the 2024 China Automobile Engineering Society Youth Automotive Science Festival, featuring a blend of exhibitions, hands-on experiences, and educational activities.
Finally, the meeting aims to mutually empower local economies, as this is the first time the event will take place in Chongqing, engaging key local enterprises like Changan Automobile, Seres, China Automotive Technology and Research Center, and universities such as Chongqing University and Chongqing University of Technology.
Lu Lili, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Society of Automotive Engineers, emphasized that the annual meeting’s influence has been steadily increasing, positioning it as the most comprehensive, large-scale, and diverse academic exchange platform in the automotive field. This year’s conference aims to further establish itself as a beacon of automotive technological innovation, attracting key representatives from the automotive innovation ecosystem to share insights, discuss frontier trends, guide academic directions, and deepen international cooperation, ultimately creating a high-end exchange platform for global automotive technology innovation.
