Keystone Bank Limited, a respected financial institution in Nigeria, has reaffirmed the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) stance regarding its stability and strength. In a statement released on Tuesday, the bank’s Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Hassan Imam, emphasized that there are no intentions from the CBN to revoke its license.
“This clarification is essential, especially in light of the rampant spread of misinformation across social media platforms, particularly WhatsApp,” stated Mr. Imam. He urged customers and stakeholders to dismiss these unfounded claims as false.
“We want to clarify that we are financially strong, consistently growing our balance sheet, and delivering exceptional value to our stakeholders,” he added. “We are actively pursuing legal action against those responsible for disseminating these falsehoods and are determined to hold them accountable.”
He further highlighted, “As a bank, we operate from a position of financial strength, reliably meeting all our obligations and regulatory requirements. Our retail banking services have garnered recognition, ranking second in the industry according to the KPMG BICX 2023 Report. Additionally, we were honored as the ‘Retail Bank of the Year’ at the Africa Industrial and Development Conference and Awards 2024.”
Mr. Imam also pointed out that the recent appointment of a new Board of Directors by the Central Bank, featuring seasoned bankers and professionals from various fields, further enhances the bank’s governance structure.
